Why back in the dark ages of this site I wrote an article about how to create a delicious bookmarks page. This is a page with a piece of javascript provided by delicious and is pulling my bookmarks that are tagged with WordPress.
Well, call me dense but there is a WordPress function called Fetch Feed that can be used to do the same thing and can actually be used to pull any RSS feed to your templates without the use of a plugin.
Recently I’ve been studying FBML (Facebook Markup Language) to spice up my Facebook fan page.
One thing that I’ve discovered is that the Facebook Developer’s Wiki, while full of useful information, is even more difficult to understand than the WordPress Codex. Either it’s for people way smarter than me or the developers don’t want us common folk to understand what the heck they are doing ;-) The examples, however, for each tag are very helpful.
Another good place to get information or assistance about FBML is on the Static FBML Discussion page. There are a lot of people answering questions, providing links to tutorials and demonstrating working snippets of code.
**UPDATE: I have provided instructions for how to link a NextGen Gallery image to a post or page in the 2.0+ version of the plugin.
If you’ve ever wanted to add additional information about the images in your NextGEN Gallery, you can do so with the NextGen Custom Fields Plugin.
This plugin will add additional fields that you define to each image in the gallery.
The downside of this plugin, is that you have to be comfortable editing the template files. To actually display the data in your new custom field, you need to edit one or two of the templates that are included with the NextGEN Gallery plugin.
Under Tools in the WordPress settings are the import and export options. This can be really useful when you are moving a blog from one location to another or if you are moving a WordPress.com hosted blog to a self-hosted one.
The export/import feature, however, does not include your blogroll. If you have a large one it can be very tedious to recreate.
But, there is a way, to transfer the blogroll so it doesn’t have to be recreated manually.
Last summer I wrote an article about how to add a Facebook application to your news stream that you had previously removed or “hidden”.
Well, since the last Facebook design change that method has become obsolete, as someone pointed out in the comments.
So, here is the new way to unhide a hidden application or page.
