April is almost over and I only have one more week at my day job – yay! I keep swinging between being really excited and being really scared but am hopeful and mostly confident.
I was really busy this week (as always) but came across a lot of good links. We start with Chernobyl, have some WordPress, some freelancing, and some more WordPress. :-)
WordPress Plugin Search Reloaded – Tweaked by Stratos
A couple of months ago I wrote about the Search Reloaded WordPress plugin, which sorts search results by relevance rather than by date.
Recently, SDK commented and said that she would like it if Search Reloaded also searched the comments.
So, 2 weeks ago when Stratos agreed to create plugins for reasonable requests, I requested that Search Reloaded be “tweaked” so it can also search comments. And Stratos did just that. You can read about it on his website.
The plugin will search posts and comments and list all of the posts that contain the search term in either the post or the comments. When I first tried it, I was confused because I thought the comments and the posts would be listed out. Stratos, however, set me straight and told me that would be way too complicated.
If You Could Have Any WordPress Plugin, What Would You Want?
Last week I wrote an article called 5 Annoying WordPress plugins. One of the plugins included was lolcats by Stratos. In the comments, Mike Nichols mentioned that he wanted a good footnotes plugin. Then, Stratos commented and said that he made the lolcats plugin to practice making a plugin and that he really wanted ideas for plugins that people wanted. As a result of that discussion Mike and Stratos worked together to create the YAFootnotes plugin for WordPress. You can see how awesome the plugin is on Mike’s site, Anxiety, Panic & Health.
