Earlier this week I showed my new Facebook Welcome page that uses WordPress to serve the content.
In the article I mentioned that I would go through the steps involved in doing this.
Here we have the first step, which is making a custom WordPress template. You will need to know how to use FTP, copy and edit a WordPress template, and assign the template to a WordPress page.
I’ve wanted to update the custom Facebook landing tab for (Anti) Social Development for quite some time. It’s one of those things that keeps getting put off, however, because I’m always working on other people’s sites and Facebook pages.
Since I had been thinking more than doing, I came up with a plan for using WordPress to provide the content so I could have dynamic content, such as recent posts, and even utilize some of the plugins.
Last Winter I wrote a popular article on creating a custom Facebook page tab with iframes. Since Facebook seems to enjoy changing the interface and settings as soon as we get accustomed to them, they have slightly changed the page for creating a new Facebook application and there are some different fields to fill out.
Here I will provide updated instructions.
Did you spring forward? While it’s nice to have more light, my body doesn’t like losing the hour and I usually end up being tired all week.

I, as well as others, found that our new iframe app for Facebook tabs was not showing up in the list of applications for the page.
This was a big pain because I couldn’t easily add and remove the tab, edit the tab, or do much of anything without going back to the application page.
Well, I discovered, thanks to a super helpful commentator, that one of the fields that I left blank on the Facebook integration tab needed to be filled out in order for the tab to appear in the list of applications.
