What to Read Next is a personal project for managing a book collection of books that I have read. I was unable to find the software or plugin that fit all of my requirements so I decided to build one myself as a WordPress plugin. This project is still in development as I am bug testing and haven’t decided whether to release it as a WordPress plugin or as a theme. I am leaning towards a plugin as I would like it to work on all WordPress sites regardless of the theme.
This project uses custom fields, a custom taxonomy for books, a responsive grid based layout, integrates affiliate sales with dynamically created links based on the ISBN, has multiple sorts and filters, and recommends books based on genre and my personal review.
I created my Simple Star Rating plugin just for this project which has been released in the WordPress repository.
Additionally, I am adapting the plugin to also be used to manage a video game collection.
