A couple of months ago I wrote an article on how to change the author of a WordPress post.
Did you know that you can also bulk edit the author for multiple posts? I learned how to do this when I was importing posts from one site to another and accidentally assigned them to the wrong author. I was determined to not fix them one by one and I found out that bulk editing is easy once you know where to look.
In today’s world, the internet has dominated other form of marketing in such a manner that many of the well know advertisement printing industry has shut down over the years. There is web marketing, digital marketing, using SEO to market to which you can see this great post to read and understand its significance. So while I write many posts and advertise various legit bands, but there are times I have taken a break just to enjoy life outside the digital world. I’ve seen a number of articles saying that you shouldn’t write a post apologizing for not writing new blog posts.
So, I won’t apologize. Plus, I’m not all that sorry because I’ve been so busy with work, getting back into shape, and enjoying life.
But, I didn’t realize how long it had been since I last posted until I was asked on Facebook why I had stopped blogging. I thought, “wait, I haven’t stopped blogging”. And then I realized so many months had gone by that it must appear that way. I knew I was lazy about answering and even moderating comments but in my mind I had just written a new post (even though I really hadn’t).
Previously I wrote about how you can increase the writing space in WordPress, which makes it easier to write your blog posts.
One of the cool new features in WordPress 3.2+ is a fullscreen writing area.
This gives more space for writing and is also considered a distraction free writing area as all you have on the screen is the section where you write the post and a minimal toolbar.
This post is the result of someone asking me if the number of comments listed on the comments page in the WordPress admin could list more than the default 20. I wasn’t sure so I looked around in the settings and discovered that, like the number of lines in the edit/write screen, that this setting can be changed and it doesn’t seem to be very well known.
It’s another one of the “hidden” or “I didn’t even know it was there” settings.
Last week I posted an article on my facebook fan page about how ownership of a fan or business page can’t be transferred to another user (Facebook really needs to change this).
Someone commented on that post about what a problem this is and then asked me how to get notifications when someone posts to your fan page.
Right now there isn’t a way to get notifications on wall posts or comments on items I post but there is a workaround that helps a little.
