This post is the result of someone asking me if the number of comments listed on the comments page in the WordPress admin could list more than the default 20. I wasn’t sure so I looked around in the settings and discovered that, like the number of lines in the edit/write screen, that this setting can be changed and it doesn’t seem to be very well known.
It’s another one of the “hidden” or “I didn’t even know it was there” settings.
For a year now we’ve been able to get custom URL’s for our Facebook profile and fan pages. Instead of something like
facebook.com/pages/someannoyingoverlylongstring
we can get
facebook.com/Anti.Social.Development
I get asked how to get one frequently so I decided to quick write this up and make the information readily available. This certainly isn’t an original post but I’m sure some will find it useful.
On Facebook Pages, which is news and information for the admins of Facebook fan pages, I see the same questions asked over and over and over. And many of these questions can be answered by doing a quick search on Facebook.
The most frequently asked question is “how can I change the name of my fan page?”
Well, here’s the answer.
**UPDATE: I have provided instructions for how to link NextGen Gallery images to a post or page in the 2.0+ version of the plugin.
In my previous article I discussed how more information could be added to the images in the NextGEN Gallery by using the NextGEN Custom Fields plugin.
I installed and activated the plugin, created a new custom field, and showed the code that was used to display the new field with the images.
What I still need to discuss is where the code should go in the NextGEN Gallery template file and how to link to individual posts or pages. So, here we go.
As with many things about Facebook, editing the list of favorite pages is unintuitive.
There isn’t an edit link under the pencil icon and the application isn’t even listed with the other ones under the edit this page link.
So how do you edit the favorite pages application and remove pages from it?
