Last week I wrote about how the WordPress fetch feed function could be used to display RSS feeds on a website rather than using the RSS plugin.
While I was working on the articles it occured to me that a shortcode that provided this feature would actually be a lot easier and with the shortcode the feed could easily be used in a post or a page.

I’ve spent a lot of this year dealing with mental clutter and finally feel ready to deal with the physical clutter. I’ve lived in the same apartment for 7 years (a lifetime for someone who used to move every year) and had a child in that time so a lot of stuff has piled up. We have a lot of storage space, which is a mixed blessing in that we stuffed things in the attic that we would have gotten rid of if there were less storage room.
My husband was the organizer. Or so I thought. He used to take things up to the attic, store things in closets, and take care of the organization. Perhaps I should have supervised this more but after he left I discovered that things were not organized at all. One end of the attic contains every box that a package arrived in. I have spent two hours breaking down boxes and have barely made a dent in the pile.
I really like delicious for saving my bookmarks and have about 4,000 sites bookmarked there. Recently I wrote about how to create a delicious bookmarks page – mine is limited to sites that I tag with WordPress.
I also use quite a few delicious rss feeds; on particular tags, my network, and on what’s popular.
The feed this week isn’t for a site but is rather the rss feed for what’s popular on delicious. When I’m looking for ideas or sites that haven’t heard of before, I go through this feed. [Read more…]
