I am happy to announce the launch of Things Kids Say, a personal project that is a collection of the funny things kids say posted all in one place.
It feels like I’ve been been working on this project forever. Well, I have been collecting the funny things my daughter says for years (although now that she’s a teenager she’s isn’t nearly as funny as she used to be).
Here’s the Valentine Cards my daughter has been working on this year and they are super easy to make.
Any round/tube candy can be used or if you don’t want to use candy (or if your school doesn’t allow it) you can use a decorated toilet paper roll.
Her original idea was to use lifesavers but I couldn’t find a big bag of them at any of the local stores (maybe I should have bought them at Halloween) so she decided to use Smarties instead.
February is almost here and we’re well into the new year – maybe I won’t get any more Happy New Years. ;-)
This week I have saving money, an awesome cake, a doorbell that I need, freelancing and more.

The kid and I have already started working on her class Valentines. It’s a little early but she is at her Dad’s every other weekend so I only have two weekends with her to get them done. And since we started doing homemade ones last year, she never feels like making all of them in one session.
Last summer she was given a big container of little glow sticks for her birthday. Since she only needs so many, I thought it would be a good idea to use them as part of the Valentines.

Happy mid-November as we slide toward Thanksgiving in the US. Anyone else totally annoyed with the holiday music in the shops? I wish they would wait until after Thanksgiving – I’m pretty sure that was what it was like when I was a kid.
