I am currently working on a personal project to create a WordPress based collection of all the books I have read. While searching for resources I came across these great WordPress themes for selling books – some are geared toward an individual author’s books and others are for a full online store that could be used for a bookstore or publisher.
What to Read Next: Books Read the 2nd Half of 2011
My yearly reading goal is 52 books or a book a week. I surpassed this in 2011 and read 95 books. Many of these were series that weren’t that challenging, such as the Sue Grafton and Jim Butcher books. I also became obsessed with Laura Lippman and ready everything she has written.
I’ve decided to challenge myself a bit more in 2012 and one of the first books I’ve read is The Pale King by David Foster Wallace. I’m also planning on reading 1Q84 by Murakami, Infinte Jest by David Foster Wallace and to read the Neal Stephenson’s that have been next to my bed for years. I’m also going to try to read more non-fiction.
Here are the books I read the 2nd half of 2011
WordPress Themes, Hosting, Newsletter, and Security Services That I Recommend
I am frequently asked for recommendations for web hosting, newsletter services and premium themes.
I decided to make a list of services that I use or have used for my clients that I especially like and post them here. I also have a permanent page called recommendations.
What to Read Next: Goodreads Recommendations Can Help
If you visit this site regularly, you know that I love to read and that I’m a fan of Goodreads. I’ve also found that a lot of people are searching for help on deciding what to read next.
Goodreads has added recommendations to their service, which is a great new feature that will help people locate new books to read.
What to Read: Books Read the First Half of 2011
This is the list of books I’ve read the first 6 months of 2011. My goal is 52 books a year but since I read 42 in 6 months I’ve increased my yearly goal to 70 this year. Of course, I’m not reading Joyce or any of the great works of literature – honestly, I can read a lot of the books on this list in a day – especially the ones in the series.
And this has been a year for series. I worked through the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher, I reading the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child and am on my way in reading every book by Laura Lippman.
I’ve put an asterisk next to my favorites. There a couple on this list that I really didn’t like at all – don’t get me started on The Discovery of Witches. And the list doesn’t include the ones I started and didn’t finish – I usually have quite a few of those by the end of the year. I either couldn’t stand the book and figure life is too short and there are too many unread book to waste my time or I lost interest.
