I just realized that this blog is a year old. My first post was May 19, 2008 although I didn’t really get going until June. I tend to think of the blog starting in the summer.
So, in order to commemorate this event I am going to list my 5 most popular posts of all time based on page views in Google Analytics. One of them I know without even looking it up. On most days it gets the most traffic, it rarely gets a comment and it makes me laugh.
Yesterday I listed the 5 most popular articles that I’ve written this year based on pageviews from google analytics. Today I’m going to list my 5 favorite articles of the one’s I’ve written this year. I don’t think there is going to be any overlap (I haven’t actually selected them yet – it’s going to all be real time while I’m writing).
Here are the 5 most popular articles that I’ve written this year. This is according to google analytics and is based on pageviews. I selected the time period January 1, 2009 to April 20, 2009 for top content and then scanned the list.
Some of my most viewed articles were written last year. I have skipped over those and am only including the popular ones from 2009.
The first couple of months that I had this site I only had one visitor. Well, only one that I knew of. So many of my articles went unloved and unread.
It’s not that the articles are SO bad. Well, maybe just a little – my writing has definitely improved. It’s just that no one knew they existed. They were out there all alone floating about the Internet.
Since I’ve been highlighting articles from the past, such as 5 WordPress articles and 5 Twitter articles, I decided to showcase 5 unpopular articles. Maybe they will find a little love now.
I should note that my criteria for selecting articles were ones with no comments. It’s entirely possible that they were wildly popular and that the readers were so stunned by my brilliance that they were unable to comment.
It seems that people are interested in freelancing or earning extra money and in twitter. Since I wrote a number of articles about twitter before anyone was visiting this site (and because I’m lazy), I’m re-posting what I consider to be my 5 best articles about Twitter.
They are on a variety of topics and aren’t exactly the how to get started with twitter types of articles but I think you will still find them useful.
