Most themes will work with WordPress 3.0 but are not designed to take advantage of the new features such as menus and multi-user. The code will need to be added to your current theme.
Many paid and premium themes have released updates for their users that contain the code for the new features.
Here are 5 free themes that are WordPress 3.0 ready. A couple of them are variations on the new default theme, Twenty Ten.
As it heats up here in Philly this summer, all I can think about is cooling off in the water. I’m not a big fan of pools because I grew up by lakes and prefer swimming in them. I suppose I will have to wait until my trip to Vermont (I wish I was leaving today).

Happy Mid July! I’m been not quite myself lately – not out of sorts but lacking in my normal level of energy. I’m not sure if it’s post World Cup depression, even though my team won, or if it’s my upcoming birthday. If it were up to me, I would ignore the whole thing but my daughter, like most kids, loves birthdays and is going to want me to celebrate it.
I think I’m also really ready for vacation but I’ve got another month before that happens.
Anyway, this week I have loving the heat (ugh), freelancing and the phone, WordPress, and more.
This post is the result of someone asking me if the number of comments listed on the comments page in the WordPress admin could list more than the default 20. I wasn’t sure so I looked around in the settings and discovered that, like the number of lines in the edit/write screen, that this setting can be changed and it doesn’t seem to be very well known.
It’s another one of the “hidden” or “I didn’t even know it was there” settings.
It has been really hot here in Philly recently. I try not to use air conditioning but when I do, I only use it in one room and we spend all of our time in that one room. I do this because I have window units rather than central air, trying to reduce energy usage and the cost.
Because of this, my kitchen is unbearable. There is a box fan in the window but the part of the house that isn’t cooled is about 90 degrees. I don’t want to cook and try to come up with different salads and cold food. Many salads, however, require potatoes, pasta and other ingredients that need to be cooked. I am a morning person so I usually cook these items first thing in the morning before 7am.
