Recently I read about an Easter Egg in WordPress 2.6 and 2.7. After trying it out, I decided to record it and show it through a video rather than describing it. I’ve been wanting / needing to become more proficient with screen capture software so this finally gave me the motivation to do so.
I tested Cam Studio Open Source, which is free open source software, at first. I had a little bit of trouble with the settings – the text on the screen was all blurry when the video was resized. I later figured out what I had done wrong but had already tried creating the video with Jing, which a number of people recommended to me on twitter.
Jing is screencapture software for Windows and the MAC. And it is so easy to use. Just click and follow the instructions. Really! It’s super easy.
Earlier this week I published my guide to finding freelance work with Twitter. In the article I repeatedly stressed that helping others was the best way to build credibility and to been seen as an expert in your field.
I enjoy helping people, meeting new people, and being presented with new challenges.
There is, unfortunately, a downside to being helpful
People will make demands and take advantage of you, even unintentionally.
And I don’t always deal with this very well because my inclination is to be helpful and I can find it difficult to say no.
It seems that people are interested in freelancing or earning extra money and in twitter. Since I wrote a number of articles about twitter before anyone was visiting this site (and because I’m lazy), I’m re-posting what I consider to be my 5 best articles about Twitter.
They are on a variety of topics and aren’t exactly the how to get started with twitter types of articles but I think you will still find them useful.
