This week I have a variety of links – WordPress, zombies, negative comments, un-packaging and more.
- How To Make a WordPress Events List – How to make a list of events without a plugin using a category called Events and WordPress queries.
- Zombify – Turn yourself into a zombie on the Zombieland website.
- 10 Places with Morbid Names – What the title of the article says. I’ve been to Tombstone a number of times but despite it’s name it’s not a morbid place – it’s a tourist trap.
- 8 Reasons Why Negative Comments are Good for Your Blog – We don’t like to be criticized but here are some reasons that negative responses to your articles can be a positive thing.
- London’s Unpackaged Grocery Shop: No Packaging Whatsoever – A store that sells goods without packaging. I would love to have one of these in my neighborhood. Most of our waste comes from packaging.

A very small garage

The 21 Things We’re Learning to Live Without article isn’t really anything new and I think the advice to voluntarily forgo health insurance is horribly irresponsible.
Morbid names – I heard of “Murder Island” before, but I didn’t think it was a real place!

Hi Carla – I must be very irresponsible – I don’t have health insurance.
I’d heard of many of the morbid place names, like Death Valley, but it never occurred to me until the article how morbid the names are.
Carla says
Kim – I’m sorry for implying that anyone choosing (not because they cant pay or not eligible) to forgo insurance is irresponsible. I guess that’s the wrong word. I pay soooo much yearly for medical expenses. That number would be greater if I didn’t have insurance, but that’s just me and I know other people are not in my situation.

Hi Carla – I didn’t mean to sound snippy – I am a little irresponsible
about it. I could get ok insurance if I tried harder.
Jim says
AWESOME. I will have to Zombify myself. :-)
The yip yips!!!
And the guy parking in that garage might be the best driver in the world. I love when he gets out and closes the door.
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Jim – I found the parking video from you. I would never be able to park in such a tight spot.
Tracy says
Oi! That parking video makes me queasy every time I see it. I am, how you say, not a good driver and a spot that small is the stuff of nightmares to me.
Love the idea of a shop without packages. It’s really great for large families like mine, because I can get as much as I need without having to buy two obnoxiously big bags within a shrink wrapped box or whatever. It’s funny though, the worst offenders seems to be junk foods – if you buy any boxes of kids “fruit” snacks, it’s mostly carefully wrapped up and sealed bags of air in a cardboard box. Bleh – waste of money, resources and calories.
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Tracy – I think most “good” drivers would have a hard time parking like that. :-)
I’m really tired of the boxes wrapped in plastic with each item inside the box also wrapped in plastic.

I saw the Unpacked grocery store a couple weeks ago, and really my first thought was “upscale bulk store”.

Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Andrea – Do you have bulk stores? Some stores here have a bulk section but it isn’t very common and there aren’t that many products that you can buy that way.
Andrea_r says
Yep. :D A whole chain of ’em. bulkbarn.ca I think they’d let you bring your own containers too.
More bulk stores would be good.

Can we say claustrophobia?? Damn that parking vid really creeps me out; being a big guy and all. LOL

Hi Dennis – I could never park a car like that – even lining it up with the door in order to get into the house :-)
