Dot, from Deeper Issues, tagged me in the Blame Tara Meme and I’m supposed to answer 10 questions about myself.
Some of these questions are really hard! I just hope that I can answer as honestly as Dot did.
If I’ve tagged you, remember that participation is completely based on whether or not you want to do it.
- Who is the hottest movie star? – Ok, this one is easy. Without a doubt, Johnny Depp. I’ve loved him since Edward Scissorhands. I did not care for 21 Jump Street, although I am old enough to remember it.
- Apart from your house and your car, what’s the most expensive item you’ve ever bought? – This question makes some assumptions about me as a consumer. I do not own a house nor do I own a car. And I don’t want to. The most expensive thing I’ve bought is my education.
- What’s your most treasured memory? – Hmm … I don’t know if I have one. Although one of the happiest days of my life, other than the birth of my daughter, was when the downstairs neighbors from hell moved out. They were horrible. They claimed they didn’t understand English when I would go down and ask them to be quiet but somehow knew all the curse words. And they didn’t hesitate to use them even when my daughter was with me – and she was a baby at the time. I sat on the porch watching them move out – I was SO happy.
- What was the best gift you ever received as a child? – I think it was my first two wheeled bike that I got on my 4th birthday. I have a very vivid memory of it and it temporarily changed my favorite color from green to purple.
- What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made? – I’ve made A LOT of mistakes. I guess it would have to be the guy I dated when I was in high school. He was way too old for me and drank way too much. I have a hard time when I look back on it because I can’t figure out what I was thinking. I may have seen him as an escape from my parents.
- 4 words to describe yourself. – Sarcastic, kind, off-beat, and cynical.
- What was your highlight or lowlight of 2008? – 2008 pretty much sucked from start to finish. The year started with my marriage ending and ended with my Mother passing away. I was happy to see 2009. The high point was the start of this website.
- Favorite film? – One favorite film? Ok, I’ll throw one out that probably no one has heard of – Six String Samurai. I also love Grease.
- Tell me one thing I don’t know about you. – Hmm … something that people don’t know about me is probably not something I’m going to reveal. Some of you may know this one … I grew up in New Hampshire near Squam Lake. Squam Lake is where the movie On Golden Pond was filmed.
- If you were a comic book/strip or cartoon character, who would you be? – Well, obviously Wonder Woman. I ALWAYS wear stars on my chest, I have bracelets that deflect bullets, and I frequently carry a lasso ;-)
So now here’s who I’m going to tag to participate in this meme.
- Stratos from Stratos.me
- Tracy O’Connor from I Hate My Message Board
- Palma from Buddha Trance
- Valerie from the Thinking Out Loud Blog
- Adrenalynn from Rainy Day.

“I do not own a house nor do I own a car. And I don’t want to. The most expensive thing I’ve bought is my education.”
This is a beautiful answer. I think I like you even more now! (As if that’s even possible. :)
Vered – MomGrind´s last blog post – 10 Ways To Hate Yourself As A Woman
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Vered – Thanks! I don’t really like to buy stuff or own things that cause
extra responsibility. Maybe – I’m just lazy. Actually when I’m walking home with a backpack stuffed with groceries I don’t feel that lazy.
It annoys me a little that I’ve spent so much on my education – almost everything I’ve done to earn money has been self-taught.
Betsy Wuebker says
I loved the education answer, too! And I liked the one about watching the neighbors from hell move. We have some of those next to us. There’s a street between and we’re up higher, so you’d think sound wouldn’t carry. They’re younger so it’s all about all kinds of drama with them. With drama comes noise, right through my bedroom walls and windows. It’s a cool thing to get a sucky year over with too, isn’t it? I was glad that Dot tagged you!
Betsy Wuebker´s last blog post – FROM THE ROAD: ALASKAN GOLD
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Betsy – They were the worst neighbors I ever had. And they moved it shortly after my daughter was born. I had a newborn that wouldn’t sleep and then when I would finally get her to sleep and go lay down they would come home and start screaming and yelling. My ex finally wrote
a petition that everyone in the building signed and that we gave to the landlord to have them kicked out. By that point my landlord was sick of it to and he had them leave. He’s since become very careful who he rents to.
Jim says
Awesome answers. :-)
Question #2 is pretty presumptuous. I like your answer to it too.
I can’t believe all this time I’ve known you, I’ve never seen your lasso.
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Jim – Mona confiscated it ;-)
Cath Lawson says
Hi Kim – That was a smart thing to do. Your education is an investment. A car, or the house you live in aren’t.
LMAO at your treasured memory. I’ve had those types of neighbours where you fantasize about them fatally electrocuting themselves with the stereo.
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Cath – I didn’t intend it that way – I just don’t like the responsibility that
comes from owning things. And since I live right in a big city I have no
need for a car.
Yeah – one time I put Nirvana on as loud as possible and then put the speaker face down on the floor. My ex came home and thought I had lost
my mind ;-)
Tracy says
Ha! I think I am already supposed to do this one. I guess I should leave off “procrastinates” because that’s something everyone knows about me.
I think I like you so much because you’re from New Hampshire. That’s so exotic to me! (not being a smart ass, New England is incredibly exotic to me, a Southener who has never been there.)
Tracy´s last blog post – People who need pupa are the pluckiest people
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Tracy – LOL
I’ve only been to Tennessee once and that was going through it to get
somewhere else. We did stop – I have no idea where – and wanted ice
cream. We asked at a little store:
Us: Do you have ice cream?
Them: We have Vanilla.
Us: Do you have cones?
Them: No. But I can put a slab in a cup.
When I was a kid my area of the country being called New England
confused me. I thought that was the name of the entire country.
You know – I live in New England as opposed to Old England.
Ajith Edassery says
Very interesting indeed and I liked the way you answered them.. Johny Depp is that pirate guy right? I haven’t watched that movie but remembers his make up from the poster :)
So you’re sarcastic, off-beat and cynical eh
Ajith Edassery´s last blog post – Wrong Keywords and risky Keyphrases can kill your Blog
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Ajith – I’m also kind. :-)
Yep – Johnny Depp is the pirate guy. But I liked him WAY before those movies.

I love your answers. Though I’m a car girl myself, I hate the assumption that everyone has one!
carla | green and chic´s last blog post – Giveaway: Matt & Nat Takumi Vegan Handbag
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Carla – It amazes me that in 100 years a car became an interesting
new innovation to something that is considered to be a necessity. And
everything seems to be designed around them. People assume I’m either poor or a hippie when I say I don’t have one.
Adrenalynn says
I love the fact that this is now officially called the blame Tara meme :) And practically all over the world, no less.
I’m not crazy about Johnny, it must be that I find him a bit androgynous at times. But he’s definitely an awesome actor!
I WISH the most expensive thing I’ve bought was my education. Never mind the fact that higher education is practically free in this country, I would’ve paid a lot of money right now if I meant I got an education in return! I might do something about that as soon as I get those kids to grow up, though.
Love your answers! And I actually did this the first time around- but I’m so excited that you tagged me that I almost want to do it again :)
Adrenalynn´s last blog post – Because I’ve been sick and/or busy for the past week this is all you’re getting. Move along, please, nothing to see here.
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Adrenalynn – I didn’t know you had already participated – now I’m
going to have to find it our your site.
Johnny Depp is an awesome actor – I guess he is a little androgynous
but I don’t have a problem with that. Heck, my answer to the question
was almost Angelina Jolie ;-)
Adrenalynn says
LOL- I actually did answer Angelina Jolie :)
And because I’m dying for you to read my answers, I dug it up for you:

I am so glad you left the link. I left a comment that I was going to go
check out the article and then immediately got distracted. That’s because I’m old and forgetful ;-)
Adrenalynn says
Lol :) I’m way to self centered to let you get away with that!

Thank you for doing this meme, I am enjoying learning about folks from this particular one as it is more interesting with the questions. Blogger Dad changed the title to the Blame Tara Meme…
I wonder if we have all had horrific neighbors as one time or another? what a relief and what joy with a new baby.
I own a car but it was my mother’s and when she died I got this amazing Volvo Station Wagon…but now I feel like the suburban housewife thing…except we live almost downtown…and I am a grown up hippie….
Thank you for sharing – I liked getting to know you better in this bloggy world of ours.
Patricia´s last blog post – There’s a place For Me
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Patricia,
Thanks! I was SO happy when they moved.
I would have a car I suppose if I didn’t live in the city. My brother inherited
my Mom’s car so I don’t have to deal with that. But since he lives in the
middle of nowhere he needs it a lot more than I do.
Kikolani says
Johnny Depp is growing on me. I didn’t find him all that irresistible in the beginning, but he is super talented in the way he just immerses himself in his roles, going from creepy psycho barber to Willy Wonka to a bank robber and so on.

Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Kristi – He can’t make a terrible movie. You should watch some of his
older ones – Benny & Joon and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. I also
think he’s great in Ed Wood.
Adrenalynn says
I actually really like him in Gilbert Grape, that might be the only one, though. I guess because I can’t stand that snot Leonardo DiCaprio I liked Depp that much better in that movie!
Adrenalynn´s last blog post – It’s gotten so bad that I actually photographed myself during my lunchbreak so I could have something to blog about.
Kim Woodbridge says
I liked Leonardo until Titanic. Now I absolutely can’t stand him.
Tara@Sticky Fingers says
Hi Kim
I can’t believe there is a meme still going around called the Blame Tara Meme! That cheeky Blogger Dad!
I’m not the biggest fan of meme’s but I do tend to do them (after changing the rules to fit my taste a bit more first!)
But I am so pleased everyone has jumped on this one. I wanted it to be used to reveal more about the bloggers we read and it really has.
And for the record, fine fine choice Johnny Depp. I absolutely loved him in Ed Wood and, although I wasn’t that impressed with the film, I thought he was the best thing in Sleepy Hollow.
Adrenalynn clearly doesn’t know what she’s talking about!
Tara@Sticky Fingers´s last blog post – Having A Lovely Time
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Tara – I thought the Tara was you but I wasn’t positive.
Johnny Depp is frequently the best part of a film. I didn’t care for Sleepy
Hollow either but I thought he was great.
I think Adrenalynn likes her men more rugged ;-)
Jannie Funster says
And will you post a pic of you in Wonder Woman attire someday? I totally will if you will!! And no Photoshopping, okay? :)
You’re 100% right! Never heard of 6 String Samauri.
And are there really loons on Squam lake?
Jannie Funster´s last blog post – “Blame Tara Who?” Meme
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Jannie – Well, there’s really no reason for me to post a photo since I
look EXACTLY like Lynda Carter ;-)
There really are loons on Squam Lake :-) The only real inaccuracy was
the title of the film – it’s a big lake – much larger than a pond.
Rick says
Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed reading #6…gave me a little more insight into you. Remember, curse words are the first words you learn of a foreign language…I’m not bilingual but can curse in at least 3 languages. What a skill, eh?
Rick´s last blog post – Computer Help Show Podcast – 06-17-09
Kim Woodbridge says
Hi Rick – I had a hard time selecting 4. I thought maybe goofy, snarky or
prickly ;-) I ran it by a friend though and he though the choices were accurate.
Rick says
As verbose as I am, I would have a difficult time choosing 4 as well. My family might choose “unpredictable”. I would choose tenacious as another.
Rick´s last blog post – Senior uses Ubuntu system 14 months trouble free
Kim Woodbridge says
Tenacious is a good one. I am not unpredictable. If I do anything
spontaneous or unplanned people are shocked. What is a word that means always right? I’m that one too :-)
