Blogs are used for so many different things and to discuss such a wide variety of topics. When we think of blogs, however, we tend to think of words.
Sometimes people want to set up a blog to showcase their photographs. Here I’ve put together 7 WordPress photoblog themes.

Most of them are very good , I especially like “Clip the Photos”, it is neat and clean , several of them are free, you should mention it.
Chinese Girl´s last blog post – Shenyang Hotels
@Chinese Girl – That’s a really good point – I usually do say they are free.
And I’m pretty sure that all of these themes are free.
These are excellent themes and you have really searched and found good ones!!!
Arun | BE Folks´s last blog post – How to avoid get rich scam sites
Hi Arun – Thank you. I’m glad you like the ones that I’ve selected.
very nice collection Kim. when something like that hit’s my mind i’ll know where to look at ;)
stratosg´s last blog post – When things get extremely wrong
Hi Stratos – I set up a blog for my daughter before she was born. At that
time I wasn’t using WordPress – I don’t even think it existed and it
was very difficult to setup a photoblog. Through some messy php
and a thumbnail script I finally got it working – the code is still a mess.
I wish WordPress and themes like this had existed back then (2001).
nice collection! Photographer Dream is a cool theme. But I loved the show pic!!
Raju´s last blog post – Create Archived Web Snapshots With BackUpURL
I’m a sucker for photos of converse sneakers – I’ll have to take more
photos of my own feet.
Photographer Dream is my favorite of the bunch. Lots of color from the photos and there are enough images that a visitor is likely to click through to see a few. Photo Blog jumps out with the black and butterfly. That would be an interesting set-up for black and white gallries.
Gennaro´s last blog post – 8 Great Movies For Paris Travelers
Hi Gennaro – I like that one a lot too. The background color is a little too intense for me but if I remember correctly that can easily be
changed.
Hi Kim – These are a brilliant idea – I love that Batman photo. A lot of blogs do photos only. I used to spend a lot of time browsing through them on StumbleUpon.
Hi Cath – Have you ever used flickrvision? It has a map and shows where in the world photos are being uploaded from and the photo in
almost real time. After I showed it to my Mom, she was mesmerized
by it. You might like it too.

The last one is my favorite!
I’m with Vered on this one. The Photographer Dream is probably my favorite.
But I think the picture used in Clip The Photos is the coolest. :-)
Jim´s last blog post – Awareness Test
Hi Vered and Jim – The Photographer Dream theme seems to be
the favorite. If you try the demo, it has a lot of nice features. And the
Batman photo seems to be popular too.
The theme looks great m8! I think I can find a use for it..
Am definitely checking out some of your other ones too.. ;)
keep up the good work ..
Thanks! Which one is that you like?
Hi kim, i liked the first theme…. its just beautiful….
Amazing photographs really market them well :) I liked that sunset photo as well as the butterfly. Not sure how good the themes are though :P
Ajith Edassery´s last blog post – SEO – Link Building Series: Backlink Building Methods
Hi Ajith – That’s a good point. I haven’t actually installed any of them.
I did use the demos for awhile and they all seemed to have nice features
and work well.
Fotolog and Photographer Dreamer are my favorites of this group. Maybe I’ll do a strictly photography blog with one of these one day. :)
~ Kristi
Kikolani | Blogging, Poetry, Photography´s last blog post – 9 Ways to Use Social Networking for Blog Promotion
Hi Kristi – That’s a really good idea – you take a lot of great photos :-)
NO! Don’t change Kristi, I enjoy your current one.
Ben Pei´s last blog post – Interview With Garry Conn On Google Talk
I don’t want to speak for Kristi, Ben but I think she meant another blog
in addition to the one she is currently doing.
Kim,
I went to a few of these sites and they mention that they are SEO Optimized themes.
Can you please shed some light on what a SEO Optimized theme means in one of your future posts, if you get the time.
Hi Manshu – I think it’s part buzz phrase and part the order of how the content loads. It is also related to the use of h1 tags. I will definitely
look into this.
Pretty good themes. I haven’t seen any of them before… I especially like the last one. I almost makes me want to create a photoblog. :-)
Shirley´s last blog post – Is Video The Future Of Blogging?
Hi – I know, right. Just what we need to do – create more work for
ourselves ;-)
Nice collection of theme.. Bookmarked and stumbled :)
Harsh Agrawal´s last blog post – WordPress introduce Videopress as an upgrade service for video hosting
Hi – Thanks :-)
Nice collection, I only found this now, so maybe by now there are many newer ones, time for a rerun?
The problem is often that you need a balance with what the photographer wants to show and how the viewer gets to experience it. Does not always match :)
